There are lots of ways to get involved with our work, depending on your skills and commitments.

Internships top
Amicus places around 15-20 people a year in offices throughout the US. Interns currently range from law postgraduates through to experienced barristers and solicitors and some non-lawyers. To find out more, please click here.

Casework top
For those who cannot travel from the UK, Amicus provides assistance by carrying out research, drafting motions and submitting amicus curiae briefs. To find out more, please click here.

Journal top
The Amicus Journal is a leading reporter on the significant issues affecting capital punishment worldwide, and provides a forum for dialogue on issues concerning the death penalty and related topics. The Journal includes articles written by academics and practitioners on current legal issues and on the death penalty from the perspective of disciplines other than law. It also features news from around the world, case reports, book reviews, and front line reportage from interns working in capital defence offices. For further information please click here.

Training top
Amicus aims to provide a full educational programme for those undertaking internships, for those who wish to know more about the issues and for students and academics wishing to research the area more fully. Please click here for further information including our current training programme.

Events top
To raise awareness within the UK of the issue of the death penalty in the USA, Amicus holds large scale events on an annual basis. These have included receptions, exhibitions, publications and film screenings. Please see our Events page.
