The Amicus Journal is the leading reporter on the significant issues affecting capital punishment worldwide. It provides a forum for dialogue on issues concerning the death penalty and other related topics. The Journal includes articles written by academics and practitioners. Its content covers current legal issues, as well as the death penalty, news from around the world, and reportage from Amicus Interns in the US.

The launch will see campaigner Billy Moore address attendees. Billy is the only self-confessed murderer ever to have been released from death row. As a man who was hours from death, Billy will share his compelling first-hand story, which promises to be thought-provoking. Billy’s case raises much broader questions concerning the ultimate punishment verses possible rehabilitation. His story promises to inspire an evening of questions and discussion.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet the Joint Editor of the Journal, Thomas MacManus. This will be followed by a drinks reception and book signing. Billy Moore’s book will be available to purchase on the night.

Tickets are free for Queen Mary students and staff; £3 for Amicus members; and £5 non-members.
