The office I’m placed in is a small non-profit with huge responsibility across the whole state of Arizona. This month, they held their first ever fundraiser to try and counteract the loss of some grant funding. A Cinco de Mayo theme was decided upon and members of the capital defence community, along with any supporters and interested parties, were invited to the office courtyard to enjoy margaritas and Mexican food whilst listening to live music and spoken word performances. It was a great opportunity to put faces to names I had seen on pleadings during my office work, as well as being my first opportunity to meet the Director of the organisation and its other members who are based in Tucson. The event was a great success and there is already talk of planning another for later in the year.
