'If I Should Die' Book Launch & Champion of Justice Awards

Where

Bush House, London, WC2B 4BG, United Kingdom

When

Thursday, November 7, 2019 - 18:30 to 21:00

Please join Amicus on Thursday 7th November 2019 for the first annual celebration of our law firms and individual volunteers who work with us in the fight for justice and fair trials on death row. We will also be announcing the winners of our first Amicus Champion of Justice Awards, recognising and honouring the outstanding contributions to justice made by individuals and legal teams this year. Nominations are now open!

Starting with a champagne reception followed by a canapé dinner, the evening will include personally selected readings by our very special readers, and our usually fabulous auction with some outstanding money-can’t-buy lots along with a raffle with great prizes. This event will mark the launch of If I Should Die… A Death Row Correspondence by Jane Officer (Amicus founder). The moving story chronicles Jane’s letters with our namesake Andrew Lee Jones, executed in Louisiana in 1991. We can’t reveal any names yet, but previous hosts have included Sir Mark Rylance, Benjamin Zephaniah, P. D. James, Jamie Parker and Sister Helen Prejean.

To set the tone we will be hosting you and your guests at the exclusive top floor of the historic Bush House. Boasting spectacular views over the river and London, the former home to the BBC and now newly renovated Bush House incorporates the perfect blend between historical and traditional features, and will be the ideal venue for our special event.
